WarmtelinQ is an underground pipeline for the transportation of residual heat from the port of Rotterdam to be used to heat homes and businesses in the province of South Holland. The length of the pipeline is approx. 27km. The pipeline runs from the port of Rotterdam to the center of The Hague and from Rijswijk to Leiden.
The projects results in less CO2 emission and less usage of natural gas. Wouter Witzel EuroValve supplies Stainless Steel and Carbon Steel Dynaxe High Performance PN 40 butterfly valves size DN 50 – DN 700 for this project.

EN DAAR IS GELD VOOR NODIG
In de gemeente Losser maken bijna 400 kinderen uit 168 gezinnen gebruik van de diensten van de Stichting. Vermoedelijk is het aantal kinderen dat in aanmerking komt voor de hulp van de Stichting hoger, maar niet iedereen meldt zich aan. De bestuursleden Joyce Bagchus, algemene beleidszaken en Frans Coehorst, secretaris, van de Stichting waren vrijdagmiddag op bezoek bij Managing Director Peter Heijink van Wouter Witzel op de Pol in Losser. Het doel van het bezoek was om hun dank namens de Stichting uit te brengen aan Wouter Witzel Valve Technology. Het bedrijf heeft namelijk drie jaar lang een bedrag van 1000 euro gedoneerd aan de Stichting. Ze brachten een prachtige ingelijste poster mee en overhandigden deze aan Peter.
MAATSCHAPPELIJK VERANTWOORDELIJK ONDERNEMEN (MVO)
“Maatschappelijk Verantwoordelijk Ondernemen is van toenemend belang. Wouter Witzel Eurovalve is hier de afgelopen jaren mee geconfronteerd. In de afgelopen jaren zijn dan ook bewust en onbewust stappen gezet in het Maatschappelijk Verantwoord Ondernemen. Het managementsysteem is in 2017 en 2018 al ingericht met MVO.”: zegt Peter Heijink. “Al geruime tijd hebben een aantal MVO-zaken onze aandacht en focus richting leveranciers, zoals kinderarbeid en het uitbannen van gevaarlijke materialen voor het menselijk welzijn. MVO houdt veel in. Ook dat we kijken naar onze directe omgeving en meewerken aan projecten zoals de Stichting Leergeld Losser die uitvoert. Binnen dit bedrijf vinden wij het belangrijk dat alle kinderen in de gelegenheid worden gesteld om volledig onderwijs te kunnen volgen. Dit project is nu afgelopen, maar ik acht het niet uitgesloten om dit weer in ons beleid op te nemen zodat er nog enkele jaren van donatie kunnen volgen. Ik ga hierover binnen het management in overleg.”
BLIJ OM DIT TE HOREN
Joyce Bagchus en Frans Coehorst zijn blij dit te horen en zeggen hier onder andere het volgende over: “Het is zo fijn dat bedrijven in Losser met ons mee willen denken en werken. Wouter Witzel is één van die bedrijven, maar gelukkig zijn er meer die dit doen Zo zorgen alle rijwielhandelaren in onze gemeente, in samenwerking met de Stichting Leergeld, voor een betrouwbare fiets als een kind elders zijn studie moet volgen. De Stichting stelt dan een voucher ter beschikking van 500 euro om een goed bruikbare fiets aan te schaffen. We blijven ook de komende tijd verbinding zoeken met Losserse ondernemers. Een klein gebaar kan heel groot zijn voor onze kinderen”. We zijn facilitair voor de gemeente bij het uitdelen van fashioncheques. Wij zorgen ervoor dat die cheques op de goede plek terecht komen. Wij proberen zoveel mogelijk bekend te zijn onder onze doelgroep. Currently 70% of the required heat for Hoogweg’s 160 hectares of greenhouse is being provided by Geothermal Energy. By expanding the geothermal activities with this new production well, Hoogweg gets even closer to its ambition of being as sustainable and environmental friendly as possible. As the exact composition of the energy (Geo Water) is determined after drilling, know-how, proven quality and reliable short lead-times were essential.
We as Wouter Witzel are proud to contribute to these big steps once again in the Energy Transition.
Since the customer sets high standards of cleanliness for the components supplied (specifically: ISO 4406 cleanliness class -/14/10), the actuators are flushed beforehand. Previously, Wouter Witzel hired a manually operated flushing unit for this kind of project, whereby each flushing cycle would take around 2 to 3 hours. For this project, the number of valves is high and the requirements for the cleanliness level set to a level that the company decided to invest in its own automatic flushing unit. Preferably one that can also perform functional tests.
This flushing unit was developed in collaboration with hydraulic installations specialist Holland Hydraulics and filtration specialist Des-Case/RMF Systems. The final result is a flushing/testing unit that will flush out the dirt particles from the actuators with a special, thin oil. These particles come from production, transport and storage, among other things. These dirt particles are removed from the flushing oil again via a fine filter. Using a particle counter and PLS, the system automatically monitors the cleanliness level of the oil and provides a signal when the required level is reached.
To test the actuators for functionality, a selector switch can be switched from ‘flush’ to ‘commute’. In this position, the actuators move back and forth time-controlled. At the end of the stroke the cylinder is loaded for a set time at a set pressure (maximum 250 bar). With this, among other things, the breakaway torque of the valve (stick/slip) and the robustness of the actuator can be determined.
With this new flushing and test unit, Wouter Witzel reduces the flushing time from the aforementioned 2 – 3 hours with a rented manual unit to less than half an hour with this automatic system. In addition, this unit is also suitable for flushing hydraulic components for other customers.
In conclusion, the various parties agree that the project was a textbook example of close cooperation with an optimal end result.
Together with supplier Holland Hydraulics, we overhauled the control system and the entire hydraulic package for this press. In addition, the press has been painted in a fresh color and is equipped with safety doors to meet actual machine guidelines. By touch display the correct program can now be selected in four steps to suit the disc that has to be machined. The press can be used immediately on the existing cutting dies package for Econaxe discs and when the cutting dies for EV-i discs are available (finishing touches are now being made to the design), these can also be cut.
We have also taken into account the possible expansion of the number of programs if one or more product lines would be added in future. The result is a future proof press, ready for years of operation.
This pumping station for Water Company Brabant Water will full fill latest demand and according latest milieu aspects. Scope of supply is our wafer type EVTLS(manual and pneumatic operated) with duplex disc and KIWA lining. Range from diameter DN50 up to DN800.
